Bodybuilder Samkelo Nqoko (22) of Gamalakhe won the junior category in the recent OR Thambo Mtata Show in the Eastern Cape.
Samkelo was so happy with his achievement, as all his hours of training, hard work and dedication to the sport had finally paid off.
He added that it wasn’t an easy prep, but a great experience, and one he could learn from.
The proud athlete thanked his coach Thandazani Nsimbi and everyone who supported him.
“I made it against all the odds, I kept pushing because I love bodybuilding,” he said.
Lack of funding has been a problem for the passionate bodybuilder,
His dream is to become a personal trainer.
However, he will continue to get his ‘daily bread’ and train and eat right, and if all goes well, he may enter a competition next year.
