From the bowling greens

Results from certain bowling clubs on the South Coast.

RIVERSIDE

The inaugural JL Panelbeaters Ladies 4s League at Riverside started last Friday.

The event was thoroughly enjoyed by the best teams south of Port Shepstone and the competition was closely contested, with only four points separating the top four.

Final winners were the women from Banners Rest, namely Pam Cole-Cooke, Janet Venter, Katy Babich and Amelia Pieterse.

Runners-up was the Riverside team of Pauline Dunlop, Barbara Jackson, Rentia Cobbledick and Anthea Bratby.

Third place went to Port Edward’s Leonie Booth, Pat Ruperto, Liz van der Post and Lyn Walton.

The league will be played on the first Friday of every month until November.

SOUTHBROOM

Winning the Mariner’s Open Fours were Dieter Scholtz, Ian Hutton, Trixi Smith and Paul Russell.

Runners-up were Colin Wright, Ann Hunter, Wayne Addison and Debby Evans.

First session went to Mervyn Barratt, Des Evans, Clive Edmundson and Hylton Cannon, and the second to Tiens Zietsman, St John Roodt, Carol Roodt and Kobie Ritchie.

HIBBERDENE

The Hibberdene Spar drawn trips were won by Johan Labuschagne, Rienie Blignault and Joey Venter.

Second were Bets de Villiers, Miriam Seager and Pieter Rossouw, followed by Jimmy Hay, Pauline Howle and Christian Gumede.

Next competition will only be the nominated trips, sponsored by Hibberdene Pharmacy, this Friday, starting at 13:00.

MARGATE

The Food Lover’s Market open pairs was won by Peter Mundl and Paul Russell, from Brian Douthwaite and Bill Eccles. Session prize went to Tiens Zietsman and Kobie Ritchie. 50/50 lucky draw was won by Martiens Olivier.
