PSCC hosts major amateur tourney

National ranking points are on offer at the KwaZulu-Natal Amateur, which teed off at Port Shepstone Country Club yesterday (Wednesday).

The tournament is played over two days of qualifying, followed by the top 32 going into the matchplay draw, with the final on Sunday.

The Wozani Par 3 competition takes place this Sunday, from noon. It’s not a shotgun start.

In regular news at the club, Jesse Verster and Chris Boyce won last Wednesday on 43 points.
Runners-up were Mark Smith and Bruce Holmes on 42 points, counting out Gary Vogt and Allan Rowley.

The Halfway Ford Business Day, played last Friday, was won on 88 points by Kim Strauss, Yzelle Greyling, Jennifer Duncan and Cecelia Verster.

In second place on 85 points were Roly Shaw, Johann du Plessis, Barry Oehme and Patrick Mavundla, counting out Graham Dickson, Chris Boyce, Tinus Pretorius and Rob Calder.

The Pro Shop Golf Day last Saturday was won by Daan Swanepoel on 40 points, counting out Chris Boyce.

In third place was Hendrik Janse van Rensburg on 37 points.
