Golfers keep it Tidy at Sheppie

There was plenty to enjoy on the day.

Port Shepstone Country Club was abuzz last Saturday with the hosting of the DVH KZN and Tyson Properties South Coast golf day to raise funds for Tidy Towns Shelly to Margate.

At the end of the day R20 000 was raised, thanks to the support of golfers and sponsors.

Cram one more in, all in the name of funding fuel for the Tidy Towns truck.

One of the more unusual, zany ideas (courtesy of Eloni O’Dell) saw 18 people cram into a Suzuki Super Carry (bakkie), resulting in R4500 (R250 a person) being raised to fuel the Tidy Towns truck.

It raised a healthy sum of money and even more laughs.

Winners on the day were Paul Geoffery and Altaaf Bux on 44 points, followed by Ryan Ringo and Kirk Larsen on 42 points, counting out Daan Swanepoel and George Bowie.

The previous Wednesday was a Combined Bonus Bogey won by Gavin van Wyk and Chris du Plessis on +3.

Next were Bruce Holmes and Gary Vogt on +2, followed by Rob Vogt and Lionel Peters on +1.

Coming up: Saturday, September 3 – Creston College Golf Day.
