Five-pin prowess from Pete

Players are looking forward to the Umthunzi Hotel day this Saturday.

The early morning rain put a few off at Scottburgh Golf Club last Wednesday but that was their loss as it turned out very nicely, once again.

The scores were also better probably due to the dampness with Anton Visage and Spooks winning with 44 points.

Denis Brown and Wayne Simpson got close with 42 but only good enough for second and Denis rolled in the only 2-club with ‘boet’ Graham and Mike Hogan being the recipients of the Stone.

Pete and Alex Morris are the sponsors for Friday’s five-pin competition.

This week Pete held on to his first prize with a massive 13 points – the most I can remember. Second with just eight points was Arne de Wet, who still managed to pick up R100.

Your Local Choice Pharmacy is the sponsor of the monthly medal which was played on Saturday.

Winning the best gross in A division was, as has often been the case, Barry Kisten.

Kevin Ramkisson won the B div gross with 79 and Russel Freeman won the C division with 33 points.

Barry was the only A division player on Saturday the rest being elsewhere but in the B division Ian Walker was runner-up as was Denis Brown in the C division.

The Alliance was won with 86 points by John Mills, Barry Kisten, Kevin Ramkisson and Ramu Rangasamy.

Wednesday is an Individual Stableford to get us in the mood for the very popular Umthunzi Hotel day on Saturday.

Flyer’s footnote; Golf is like fishing and hunting. What counts is the companionship and fellowship of friends not what you catch or shoot.
