Jasen and Chantal clinch Mixed Classic

It's one of Southbroom Golf Club's major tournaments during the year.

The annual Southbroom Mixed Classic was won this year by Jasen and Chantal Welsh on 80 points.

They had a strong second day of 45 points which saw them count out Rory O’Donnell and Colleen Anderson, who had scores of 39 and 41.

Runners-up were Colleen Anderson and Rory O’Donnell.

John Fox and Irene Schanda had a disappointing second round of 35 points after a promising 43 points, having to settle for third place.

One point behind in fourth place were Anton and Louise Leal on 77 points, scoring 34 and 43.

Christer Solgevik and Precious Mkhungo were next on 76 points, counting out Marius and Ann Sophi Santos.

In third place were Irene Schanda and John Fox.

The regular Wednesday competition was won by Rene Matthew and Michelle van der Hoek on 40 points, one ahead of Lori Martin and Shelley Myers.

Fourth place went to Anton and Louise Leal.

The men’s competition was won by Gavin Sole and Peter Volck on 43 points, on a countout from Rob Meydell and Bruce Begley, as well as Werner Duggan and Bo Bergqvist.

In fifth spot were Christer Solgevik and Precious Mkhungo.

Chicken Run: Ronald Kuhn 19 pts, Malcolm Greenland 18 pts, Daryl Morris 17 pts, Neill Blackstock 17 pts.

Sixth place was secured by Ann Sophi and Marius Santos.
