Batsmen cash in on weekend of runs

There is a lot of cricket on the go at the moment.

A record number of matches were played on the South Coast last weekend.

The very young Southern KwaZulu-Natal men’s team travelled to Durban to play Hillary-Malven, one of the top sides in the Challenge League.

Batting first, unfortunately not enough runs were scored and Southern KZN were restricted to 65 all out.
On a tough pitch, great bowling by captain Cody Mortimer and veteran Raja Kazi kept the game close, and Southern KZN eventually lost by only four wickets.

Southern KZN can be very proud that two umpires, Pieter Myburgh and Dyllan Govender, have been called up to umpire KZN Challenge League games this season.
