The South Coast Bass Association travelled to Bainsfield Dam for their annual away fish-off. Once there, the club was invited to fish against Beaulieu Dam Recreational Club in Richmond The invitation was accepted and seven members set off. Beaulieu Dam is a beautiful venue. Although it was a very windy day, the anglers got stuck in and caught some lovely fish.
Once again Boet ‘Kokorotkop’ Stewart came out tops with a whopping 3,2kg bass – which also contributed towards the team’s bag weight. Other anglers also contributed to the bag weight, namely Thys Hoffman, Bert van Wyk and Freek Stander, all catching weighers. Plenty of other fish came out but all too small to weigh.
At the end of the day all the fish were tallied and South Coast Bass Club took top honours and brought the trophy home. Thanks to all who sponsored prizes and to Divan Serfontein who joined as a guest. Well done to all the anglers who participated in the compo and thanks to the hosts who went out of their way to ensure the weekend was a success.
