T20 trophy on line for league teams
It's sure to be an enjoyable day of exciting cricket.
With the final round of Southern KZN’s T20 league fixtures having been completed last weekend, the semi-finalists are now ready to go head-to-head this Sunday with the coveted T20 trophy up grabs.
Knockouts Cricket Club, the defending champions and favourites for the title, are led by leading wicket taker and run scorer in Pool A, namely Ashraf Mulla.
With further talent up and down the order it will take a memorable performance to dethrone them.
Aces Cricket Club star player, Duran Munsami, feels anything can happen on the day and he is optimistic about his club’s chances despite being underdogs. This match will be played at Port Shepstone CC at 09:00.
In the other semi-final, Hibiscus Ballies’s chances of a first title will hinge on the performances of Potgieter brothers Anton, Niko and Dale when they face EMA Suidies Vikings. They play at Suid-Natal High at 09:00.
Chairman Neil Thomas is proud of their performance so far this year and said he’d like cricket to be the main winner this Sunday.
EMA Suidies Vikings, the new boys in the league this year, have a mix of youthful talent and experience and will be led by star batsmen Rudi Smit and star bowler Erwee Mynhardt.
The final will be played at Port Shepstone CC at 13:00.
Southern KZN play the Silver Saints in Chatsworth in the 50 Over KZN Challenge League this Sunday.
