Southern KZN Open coming up
A division will play strokeplay and the B division (handicaps 10 and up) will play Stableford. Carts permitted for B division and over 60s.
The annual Southern KwaZulu-Natal Open golf tournament will be held at Port Shepstone Country Club on Sunday, December 4.
A division will play strokeplay and the B division (handicaps 10 and up) will play Stableford. Carts permitted for B division and over 60s.
Defending champion is Leon Naidoo from Durban Country Club.
Gavin Sole (Southbroom) has won it at least three times, with one of those victories coming at this venue in 2009.
He’s also won it at Southbroom and Selborne Park.
Hopefully the weather will be decent – Port Shepstone has hosted the KZN Open Strokeplay and KZN Interclub this year, where rain joined the party on both occasions.
Port Shepstone also hosted the KZN Amateur Matchplay and while it didn’t rain, the wind howled, much like it did on Day 2 of Interclub.
Pro Jesse Verster has said the course is improving daily (after a challenging winter) and was looking forward to welcoming the golfers.
Entry fee is R350 for the day. To enter contact David Rush on 083 7096912.
The will also be nett prizes up for grabs.
Then there will be a short break, before the Skzn Closed which will be held in mid January.
This will be followed by Premier League, starting on January 29, with an eye on Interzone in mid March.
So there’s plenty to play for.
