News and results from some South Coast bowling clubs.

RIVERSIDE
Women bowlers had great fun competing in only Riverside ladies’ league last week.
Winners this month, with a score of 20 points, was the team from Riverside comprising Kobie Stander, Dora Vosloo, Winnie Hess and Judi Faulconbridge.
Runners-up were team Southbroom’s Heather Roberts, Julie Walker, Marilyn Sheppard, (birthday girl) Ren Smits and Brigitte Cary-Smith, on a score of 19+9.
Third place went to Pam Cole-Cooke, Janet Venter, Katy Babich and Amelia Venter, with a score of 19+4.
After four league matches, the consistently strong team from Banners Rest, captained by Pam Cole-Cooke, came through on top with a total points score of 83 points. Second on the ladder was Kobie Stander’s team from Riverside with 75 points.
Third place went to Trixi Smith’s team from Margate with 60 points.
Fourth on the ladder was Heather Robert’s Southbroom team, only one point behind on 59 points.
Thank you all for sending teams consistently for the latter part of the year.
The next event will be on February 1 next year.

MARGATE BC
The Re/Max and Deon van Schalkwyk sponsored men’s 2-4-2 was won by Deon himself with Mark Kassner.
Runners-up were Gary Hess and André Lourens.
Second session went to Tiens Zietsman and Kurt Muller.
Lucky draw was won by Deon van Schalkwyk. Quite a day for him.

PORT EDWARD
The regular open trips was won by Pam Cole Cook, Janet Venter and Hazel Delaney
Runners-up were Rob Lyle, Pat Brand Lyle and Shelley Backhouse.
Session prize went to Bruce Lund, Jeanie West and Cary Wells.

SOUTHBROOM
Winning the Mariners’ Open Fours at Southbroom on Thursday were Bill Eccles, Manny Rodrigues, Trevor Heywood and Hylton Cannon.
Runners-up were Tim Pole, Norman Davies, André Lourens and Louis Heystek.
First session went to Dieter Scholz, Ian Hutton, Trixi Smith and Brigitte Cary-Smith.
Second session went to Glyn Evans, Ian Hunter, Wayne Addison and Debbie Evans.

Banners Rest won the Riverside ladies league this year. They are Katy Babich, Amelia Pieterse, Pam Cole-Cooke and Janet Venter. Competition secretary and club president Clive Edmundson congratulates them.
