Swimmers excel at KZN premier champs
The club now looks forward to the meets coming up for SKZN schools on the January 27-28, Midmar Mile and the regionals amd national meets taking place in March.
Blue Ocean Aquatics Swimming club had six swimmers participate at the annual KZN premier championships which is for level 3 and above swimmers.
Ella Bunge was BOA’s star swimmers with winning five gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals.
Her gold medals were for 400m free, 200m back, 200m IM, 200m breaststroke and 200m free.
Silver medals where for 50m breast and 100m back, plus bronze in the 100m free and 100m breast.
Wian van Wyk won silver in the 200m breaststroke and bronze in the 100m breaststroke.
Peter Koegelenberg won gold in the 11 & under KZN open water event with Kirsty Koegelenberg winning silver in the 13 & under KZN open water.
Dian Venter won silver in his age category of 16 & over in the open water event which took place at the Baynesfild dam on December 11 last year.
