Twilight bowls fundraiser a success

Latest AMBC news and results.

The Marriott Mixed 2-4-2 was played at AMBC on February 14.

The winners were Richard van Waltsleven and Averil Black with a score of 4+20. Runners-up with a score of 4+16 were Phil Myburgh and Barbara Henderson. The session prize went to Brian McAllister and Shirley Tucker with a score of 2+13.

The annual Twilight bowls to generate funds for AMBC bowlers who will take part in the inter-district tournament in March, was a huge success. From Liesje de Rosner, Helen Turk and Annatjie Kidd, a big thank you for supporting this fundraiser.

The funds generated will make a huge difference as Liesje and Helen will play in Oudshoorn and Annatjie will go to Johannesburg. Thanks to sponsors Adcan Marine, Duck Pond Penn Valley, Anchored boat Restaurant, Scotties, Umdoni Restaurant, Put ‘n Pot nursery and Ian Barton-Hobbs.

Winners were Mally Swanby, Engela and Chris Wehr. Runners-up were Trevor and Pam Spring and Chris van de Merwe. Third prize went to Hilary Holmes with Jeremy and Janett Boyd.

Two of our Trips won their sections, but unfortunately the ladies, Hilary Holmes, Annatjie Kidd and Noelene Venter lost in the play-offs. The men’s team of Kevin O’Donoghue, Fred Hutchins and Keith Findlay went through to the next round that will be played on Sunday, February 26.
