Southern KZN golf league tees off this Sunday
The league was highly competitive last year and is expected to be the same this season.
The opening round of the 2023 Southern KwaZulu-Natal Handicap League gets under way at Southbroom Golf Club this Sunday. There’s a prize of R5000 which goes to the winning club.
This was won by Selborne Park last year and they will be eager to defend their title. Incredibly, Selborne won all of their games 6,5-5,5. That could be some sort of league record.

In the first round, Selborne Park will play Southbroom B, while Margate CC will play Southbroom A. Umdoni Park A will take on Port Shepstone CC. Umdoni Park B can sleep in, they have a bye.
Round two will also be played at Southbroom, on May 14.
Southbroom A vs Umdoni Park B; Umdoni Park A vs Selborne Park; Port Shepstone vs Margate CC; Southbroom B – bye.
Round three is at Selborne Park on June 4.
Margate CC vs Umdoni Park A; Selborne Park vs Southbroom A; Umdoni Park B vs Southbroom B; Port Shepstone – bye.
Round four is at Umdoni Park on July 2.
Selborne Park vs Port Shepstone; Umdoni Park B vs Umdoni Park A; Southbroom B vs Southbroom A; Margate – bye.
Round five at Margate CC on August 13.
Port Shepstone vs Southbroom A; Margate vs Southbroom B; Selborne vs Umdoni B; Umdoni A – bye.
Round six is at Port Shepstone on September 10.
Umdoni B vs Margate CC; Southbroom B vs Port Shepstone; Southbroom A vs Umdoni A; Selborne – bye.
Round seven is on October 22 at a venue to be confirmed.
Umdoni A vs Southbroom B; Port Shepstone vs Umdoni B; Margate vs Selborne; Southbroom A – bye.
