Surf and music as Tweni2s hits town
The Music Festival starts at noon and continues till the wee hours.
The eagerly anticipated Tweni2s Surfing Compo and Music Festival is at Tweni beach today, June 24.
A full field of accomplished surfers have been battling it out from 07:00 to be crowned winners of this prestigious pairs competition.
They will test themselves against one of the hardest grammatical secrets of the South Coast – to overcome the ‘Full Stop’, Tweni’s perfectly or imperfectly placed hazard.
Some have done all right but many have come unstuck. It all adds to the intrigue of the compo.
Local surfers will have their work cut out for them against a number of visiting out-of-towners, as they do battle for the TecBoard/Ambermad R30 000 prize-money.
The Music Festival today starts at noon and continues till the wee hours.
The line-up includes Adelei Jade, Ian Jones, Tyran Roy, PeterB and Radio Rush, followed by deejays Detroit (Chad du Toit) and Jacks ‘n Tracks.
Tickets to the Music Festival cost R100 each and give attendees the chance to win a Thula Moya 1KW Trolley Inverter and Lithium Battery worth R15 000 – for early-bird tickets bought.
Be at Tweni beach, The Spot Backpackers, to support this event, which for five years has raised funds for Ugu senior surfers, and the community of Umtentweni.
