Sunday fun for bowlers

The committee has decided to have the Sunday fun bowls on a monthly basis.

AMBC invited members and residents of Umdoni Retirement Village (bowlers and non-bowlers alike) to a fun afternoon at the club on October 15.

A total of 36 people participated in a fun 15 ends of bowls, followed by World Cup Rugby (England vs Fiji) on the big screen at 17:00 and a braai.

The hardier ones even stayed on to watch the Springboks vs France match until 23:00. It was such a great success that the committee decided to have the Sunday fun bowls on a monthly basis and of course the final between the Springboks and New Zealand All Blacks will be showing on the big screen after a braai this coming weekend.

The Hibiscus Insurance Brokers Mixed Trips competition was played last Thursday and the winners on 4 + 13 were Brian and Annetjie Kidd and Hilary Holmes. The very close runners-up on 4+12 were Liesje de Rosner, Derek Hodge and Helen Turk. The second session prize went to Tony Hoggins, Mike Harvey and Christine Gage with 2 + 6.

Annatjie Kidd and Noelene Venter will be participating in the KBA District Masters over the weekend of November 11-12 and the club wishes them good luck and good bowling.

Bowlers in great form at AMBC.
