It’s a wrap for bowlers

The last competition for the year was played this week.

Our visiting friends are enjoying our greens.

The ladies trips played last week was won by Ellen Cawker, Marilyn Folley and Laura Hean from Widenham with a 4+18. Runners-up from Hibberdene were Lindi Samuel, Cheryl Knight and Elize Duvenhage on a 4+11. Thanks to Helen Turk, Rose Daniel and Maureen Moffett who won Second Session on a 2+9 and prevented our visitors from a clean sweep of the prizes.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the men’s trips, sponsored by J Leslie Smith and Company, played last Thursday. The winners on a 4+14 were Dave Geils, Alf Toy and John Cryer from Sezela, although there is some consolation in that Alf and John are dual members with AMBC. Runners-up on a 4+11 were the Sezela trio of Roger Lane, Rod Black and Chris Adendorf. Second session on a 2+10 was won by Byron Mathias, Allan Munn and Johan Buys from Widenham.

Our bowling season is coming to an end with the last sponsored competition held on Tuesday.
AMBC thanks all visiting clubs who have supported the sponsored competitions. Your support and participation is greatly appreciated. We wish you a happy and joyous festive season and look forward to renewing our friendship and rivalry in the New Year.
