Christmas surf for locals and friends

Remember, the best wave of your life is still out there.

Under cloudy skies on Christmas Day, surfers, family and friends from St Michaels on Sea and surrounds gathered together for a 5am surf to celebrate Christmas 2023.

This tradition was started by local surfing legend Heather Clark and her late father Dave 36 years ago to commemorate birthdays, Easter, Christmas and New Year’s Day.

St Mike’s had a busy surfing calendar last year, with Tidy Towns Shelly Beach to Margate hosting the South African Surfing Championship for Opens and Masters, as well as the KZN surfing champs, held in conjunction with the Ugu Surfriders Association.

Heather and Menize Clark wish the surfing community a happy, healthy and prosperous 2024.
