Long drive pays off for fisherwoman

They live on the coast but are members of Kokstad Flyfishing Club.

The long, early morning drive to Kokstad for a spot of fishing paid off for Jaco and Annetjie Strauss recently.

Annetjie caught her biggest trout since she’s been flyfishing, a 53cm beauty, with Jaco not denied either with a stunning 55cm fish.

Although they live on the coast, they are members of Kokstad Flyfishing Club.

Jaco said the weather had been cold, but not too bad. After setting up and getting going, things then went a bit quiet.

However, Jaco struck first with a rainbow trout cockfish, and not long after that, Annetjie achieved her personal best with the 53cm rainbow trout.

The beautiful hen gave her a decent fight. They caught a few more fish after that, but all smaller before calling it a day.
