Tennis league under way

Tennis matches will be played once a month on a Saturday morning at the respective clubs.

The Ugu Tennis Association (UTA) committee is thrilled to have so many junior South Coast players entered for the first time this year.

Sharon van der Schyff, President of UTA, said it is a huge achievement for the South Coast to have the game of tennis alive and well.

The UTA 190s league is played on a Saturday morning once a month for four months, alternating between Umtentweni Tennis Club and the combined Uvongo and Douglas Mitchell Clubs.

The league fixture dates are as follows: July 13 (Uvongo/Douglas Mitchell), August 3 (Tweni) and September 14 (Uvongo/Douglas Mitchell).

“I would like to thank the senior South Coast players for accommodating the juniors and for cultivating their enthusiasm for the game even further,” said Sharon.

She encouraged all to go down to the tennis clubs and to support the players.
