Jaydon Scholtz and Blake Statt starred with bat and ball, respectively, as the Southern KZN cricket team won the T20 Promotion League last Sunday.
They defeated Simplex RHCC in convincing fashion in Durban North last Sunday, winning by 78 runs to cap a satisfying season in this format.
Skipper Jaydon won the toss and elected to bat.
Ashley Lombard got things off to a flying start, as he has been known to do, with three fours and three sixes in a quickfire 35 before being dismissed.
Jaydon played the anchor role and kept the runs ticking along smoothly, with cameo contributions from Morné Bishop (16), Gareth Bishop (19) and Dhudhat (13).
Jaydon was eventually out for 49, missing a straight one when attempting a shot to up the run rate, but by the Skzn was on the way to a decent total.
They ended on 156-8 in 20 overs, and it was always going to be a tough ask for RHCC to chase down.
In reply, RHCC never got going, thanks to a superb opening spell from Blake Statt, who took 3-14 in three overs.
Liam Scholtz wrapped things up at the end, with 2-6 in 2.4 overs.
Other wicket-takers were Cody Mortimer (1-8), Gershion Lawrence (1-3), Abdur Rehman (1-9) and Gareth Bishop (1-2).
