Go bass fishing in Harding

Ten dams are fully stocked with bass.

Ten dams are fully stocked, and great prizes are up for grabs at the Harding Bass Compo this Saturday (15th).

Registration is at the Harding Country Club at 05:00, with fishing from 06:00 to 16:00. The cost is R200 for adults and R100 for children U12.

Artificial lures should be used, and only live fish to be measured. Also, remember it’s a catch and release competition.

Wristbands must be worn by all anglers to avoid disqualification.

Lots of entertainment for all.

Don’t forget the Paddock Fishing competition from March 21 to 23. It’s one of the largest family fun weekends on the South Coast and has been held for many years.

There are over 30 fully stocked dams for fishing and over R150 000 worth of prizes to be won. Loads of lucky draws, including the main cash draw of R5 000, as well as two R1 500 cash draws.

Tickets cost R80 per person, and every ticket is an entry into the lucky draws. The more tickets you have, the more chances of winning. Arm bands for entrance into the club grounds and dams cost R20 (adult) and R10 (U18). Camping is R400 for the weekend per tent or caravan.

The Game Fish Classic competition takes place from March 21 to 23.

First place wins R20 000, second R10 000, and third R5 000. The top lady angler wins R10 000 and the top junior R5 000.

Boats can launch between Umkomaas and Port Edward.

The competition includes a spit braai and live entertainment at Shelly Beach Skiboat Club, with a briefing on March 20 at 17:30 and prizegiving on March 23 at 16:30.
