Darters get going for the year

There was an excellent turnout for the tournament.

The Margate Darts Association held their first tournament for the year at St Mike’s Curry & Bar recently.

Media liaison for the association, Eddie Ramaloo, said 58 entries were received, including men, women and youth.

There were competitors both locally and from as far afield as Chatsworth, Bizana and Phoenix.

Lucky draw winner Mary Chetty, with Niree Naidoo presenting the prize.

The singles winner was Roshan Chattergoon, from runner-up Kevin Chetty.

Runners-up in the doubles were Mike Holloway and Solly Maquthu.

Their prize was a weekend for four at the Wild Coast Sun.

The winner of the first 180 was Andrew Govender.

The various sponsors were thanked for their generous contributions.
