It was a brilliant Mixed Drawn Pairs Championships final at AMBC Bowling Club on April 26.
The match between Len Brickhill and Christine Gage against Moira Humphrey and Barrie Ainslie was riveting and kept everyone in suspense, until the end.
Barrie and Moira were 15 to 4 down and fought back to peel at 18 all. Then a twist in the game came for Barrie and Moira to lead 24 to 20.
Then Len and Christine played fantastic to peel 24 all on the 20th end. Len and Christine won the match by 1 shot. Congratulations Len and Christine on superb bowling, notwithstanding the club’s two most senior players who played spectacularly – Barrie at 84 and Moira at 89.
It truly was an epic day!
