Swinging success for Rotary golf day
Winners of the Rotary Club Golf Day were Robert Mavundla and Wonderboy Nxumalo.
Drawing a strong field of 58 enthusiastic players, the Rotary Club of Hibiscus Coast hosted a successful golf day at the Margate Country Club last Saturday.
Under clear skies and perfect golfing weather, participants enjoyed a great day on the course, all for a worthy cause.
The competition was fierce, with the top three teams all finishing on 48 points.

In first place was Robert Mavundla and Wonderboy Nxumalo.
The main organiser of the event, Johnny de Wet, praised the outstanding condition of the course.
“The course was in very good condition in spite of all the rain we recently had, thanks to the hard work of the greenkeeper,” he said.
Throughout the day, players enjoyed the warm hospitality at the Rotary stand, which served as a welcome waterhole and a hub of camaraderie.

Many expressed their appreciation for Rotary’s work in the community and pledged ongoing support for its sustainable development projects.
Club president Mike Macrae extended heartfelt thanks: “To all our wonderful sponsors, the players, our fellow Rotarians and volunteers – thank you. A special mention goes to Carla from the Margate Pro Shop for her tireless efforts in motivating players to participate, and to Carlos Pereira, the captain, as well as the ever-friendly staff of Margate Country Club.”
The day wrapped up with a prize-giving ceremony celebrating not only the winners but the broader success of the event.
The Rotary Club thanked the supporters, saying that the funds raised will go a long way in supporting its impactful community projects.
