This was certainly the case when Margate Country Club took full advantage of playing at home to astonish Umdoni Park with a 9.5-2,5.
They enjoyed a clean sweep in the morning greensomes and built on that in the afternoon singles.
This was in Round 2 of the hotly contested Southern KZN Handicap League played last Sunday.
In the other game, Southbroom, kitted out in new shirts thanks to sponsor Werner Duggan (Mac Banana) almost secured a comeback win against Port Shepstone but were denied by teenager Cameron Olivant on the last hole.
He had to work hard to overcome Cyprian Xolo, winning the last two holes (8th and 9th) to win 1-up for the overall game to be tied 6-6.
Selborne Park had a bye.
Round 3 will be at Selborne on July 27, where the hosts will face high-flying Margate and Port Shepstone will take on Umdoni Park.
Southbroom will have a bye.
