KZN’s Judi Davis to join parkrun’s 500 club
Judi Davis on her way to 500 parkruns - a rare achievement in South Africa.
Local parkrun legend Judi Davis will quietly celebrate a major milestone this Saturday (21st), when she completes her 500th parkrun at Uvongo parkrun.
Although Judi didn’t want a big fuss, this remarkable achievement certainly deserves a mention.
Judi will become the second woman in KwaZulu-Natal to achieve this, and the 66th person in South Africa to join the illustrious 500 Blue Club, a feat few have achieved.
What makes this even more special is that she joins her husband, Bill, who has also completed 500 parkruns, making them the first KZN couple, and only the seventh couple in the country to reach this milestone together.
Judi’s parkrun journey began on May 11, 2013, and over the years she has become a familiar and much-loved face on the course, inspiring many with her dedication and love for parkrunning.
Adding to the family celebration, Judi’s brother, Bruce Carlyon and his wife Pam, will both be completing their 250th parkruns on the same day in Port Alfred.
It’s certainly a parkrun weekend to remember for the whole family.
Congratulations to Judi and her family on these outstanding achievements!
