KINGFISHER BA
After a fantastic four days of bowls, the 2025 KZN Pairs came to an end last week, despite the weather doing its best to make the last two days as unpleasant as possible.
The finals were played at The Bell, with huge respect to the bowlers for enduring that awful weather.
A total of 190 teams entered this year, making it as competitive as ever.
Thanks were extended to sponsors Re/Max Coast and County and Coastal Cellular. The men’s section was won by Wayne Roberts, who is a Protea, and Roger Boulle (Team Aero Bowls South Africa).
Runners-up were Clinton Knott and Louw Vermeulen.
Third place went to Ken Fann and Lance Mansfield (Westville).
In the women’s section, winners were Zelda Siebert and Karen Vahey (Pmb Collegians) from runners-up Minnette Hatton-Jones and Natalie Botha (Stella Park).
Local teams tied for third place, namely Jessica Henderson and Michelle Gregg (Riverside), and Alida Munnik and Lorraine van Jaarsveld (Hibberdene).
MARGATE
The JL Panelbeaters open trips on June 13 was won by Mark Kassner, Rob Jackson and Eddie Hardie. Runners-up were Martiens Olivier, Mike Prinsloo and Donnavan Mulder.
Session prize went to Trevor Haywood, Mini Grobler and Johan Pretorius. Lucky draw winner was Mark Kassner.
The Holiday Club LSC sponsored pairs on May 30 was won by Johan du Preez and Dave van As. Runners-up were Theo Vorster and Jeanne Gregori.
Session prize went to Ken Tonge and Wanda Kitching. Lucky draw was won by Greg Bosch.
The Sebenza Carwash open pairs played on June 6 was won by Mark Kassner and Heidi Bracegirdle. Runners-up were Johan du Preez and Jeanne Gregori.
Session prize went to Theo Vorster and Patrick Pillay. Lucky draw was won by Wendy Walker.
