Young cricketers thrive at Kearsney festival
The weather was good for an area which cannot always predict what will happen.
RC Challengers sent an U11 cricket team to take part in the Kearsney Festival, held at the college in Botha’s Hill recently.
A number of South Coast Snipers formed part of the team as well, the combined effect giving the team some real impact.
They enjoyed six games, mostly of 100-ball, although some were shortened, and won four, narrowly losing the other two.
It was a wonderful experience for the boys, who acquitted themselves well.
Team coach was André Ellapen, assisted by Mikyle Bartle and André’s son Shaden.
There was fantastic support from the families of the youngsters.
The team comprised Matt Graham-Jolly (captain), Jesse Langton, Ezra Langton, Matt Visagie, Declyn Cilliers, Melokuhle Khanyile, Imraan Khan, JJ Grobler, Kiaan Reddy, Thunis Pretorius and Justin Mynhardt.
