Cello music in the spotlight

Guests enjoyed a concert programme ranging from Bach to the moderns.

SOUTH Coasters enjoyed an evening of divine cello music at the ‘Classics at Riverbend’ offering at Riverbend Conference Centre last Friday. The free wine tasting, which traditionally precedes a Riverbend concert was welcomed by guests. The performers comprised of cellist Boris Kerimov, violinist Elena Kerimova and painist Liezel-Maret Jacobs.

“Boris is the leader of the cello section of the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and is very highly respected, so we anticipated a really classy concert and that’s exactly what we got,” said Robin Ransome, one of the organisers of the regular classical music evenings at Riverbend.
