Smart money was on fun

Cansa was the clear winner - no photo finishes here!

TWO cats, a corpse bride (with an equally dead groom in tow) and even an Elvis turned up to place their bets at last Saturday’s Donkey Derby, the ever popular annual Cansa fund-raiser organised by the Masonic Lodge Margate.

This year’s theme was ‘Musical Movies’ and some punters went all out, having great fun coming up with inventive and imaginative outfits.

As always, excitement ran high and betting was brisk. Tables were encouraged to bid on their ‘steed’ of choice and the ‘jockeys’ were egged on with enthusiasm.

Such was the generosity of sponsors and guests alike that a whopping  R63 000 was raised on the night.

Cansa South Coast’s Diane Saunders and her team are congratulated on really putting the ‘fun’  in ‘fun’d-raiser! FOR MORE PICS, VISIT OUR GALLERY
