THE Ramsgate Lions’ Spring Fair at the Lions’ Community Centre in Ramsgate took place last Saturday.
After what was a gloomy and windy Friday, the fair was blessed with clear and sunny weather on Saturday. It really did cater for everyone, with attractions such as upmarket vendors, a kiddies’ area, a tea garden, and a cash bar.
The South Coast is often admired for its wonderful gardens and those with green fingers were well catered for.
However, the main attraction, as usual, was what has become an integral part of South African culture, food. The smell of boerewors cooking and samoosas frying was enough to attract the attention of visitors and locals alike.
Finally, a fair wouldn’t be a fair without the traditional ‘pannekoek’ and a healthy dose of that old favourite, ‘slap chips.’
