SEA rescue was the topic at Stonecroft Ministries’ monthly tea at Port Shepstone Country Club last Friday. Guests learned that the Sonny Evans Small Craft Harbour in Shelly Beach is the home of Station 20 Rescue Base where Pieter Coetzee is the station commander. NSRI covers the areas from Ifafa in the north to Impenjati River mouth in the south.
John Rolt, crew member of the NSRI said the 25 crew members are on standby 24 hours a day for emergencies. “We have three rescue boats to assist in our rescue operations and during the last financial year we saved 81 people in 31 operations. We also run the NSRI water-wise programmes to educate children in our area to be more water-wise,” said Mr Rolt.

Mitchell Sanesy and Diane Visser entertained the women with songs after which the main speaker, Debbie Jenkins, shared her life story how she coped without a father from the age of five. “While at a youth camp, I discovered where my life was heading. My relationship with Jesus made all the difference,” said Mrs Jenkins.
The next Stonecroft meeting is on Friday, November 21. Anne Brand will do some floral demonstrations for the upcoming festive season. The motivational speaker is Ian Moore.
