South Coasters enjoy mesmerising music
The Bombay artist delivered an outstanding performance.
THE Tamil Association hosted Saradha Sridevi – popularly known as Bombay Saradha – and her musicians recently.
She hails from musically talented families on both sides and when she was just seven, she sang the ever popular A R Rahman song Kuchi Kuchi Rakkama for the Manirathnam film, Bombay, and the film’s name has since stuck to hers.
Saradha was initiated into classical music at the age of five under the tutelage of Sarojini Balakrishnan. She had further intensive training from her mother, Myla Ramamoorthi Vijaya.
She has now branched into Tamil devotional music and has given stirring performances in front of large crowds of enthusiastic listeners in Tamil Nadu and abroad, especially in temples, Tamil organisations and sabhas.
