All the action will be at Tweni Beach and The Spot Backpackers this weekend during the Tweni2s Pairs Surfing Competition.

The juniors surfing will take place on Friday, June 21, with the senior pairs compo heating up on Saturday, June 22, leading into a music festival which includes a meal and the prize-giving function.

Kicking off the event on Friday the u14 boys will take to the water at 7.30am while coffee and breakfast rolls are served.

Do not be afraid to support all the youngsters which – include the u14 and u18 girls – with a class field of u18 boys vying for the wild card draw into the pairs competition.

Juniors prize-giving takes place around 4pm amid festivities where all are welcome to support The Spot Backpackers.

Bright and early on Saturday morning sees the Pairs taking advantage of every wave to ensure they will triumph over their opposition to get to the final and testify to being the third winners of the Tweni2’s taking home the cash.

Competing again this year, are inaugural winners the Oreo Brothers – Nicholas Njapha and Byrone Wigmore.

Last year winners, Nicholas Njapha and Byrone Wigmore.

Chad Du Toit, part of last years winning team, has paired up with Paul Canning, a past tour contender, which does not deter the other classy acts of Brandon Jackson, Josh Redman, Gavin Roberts and Heather Clark, just to mention a few who are competing.

Rugby showcasing the Sharks Super Rugby match will be on a big screen, with spit-braaied lamb and pork rolls on sale.

This leads up to the surfing finals with the music festival starting from 4pm.

Buy your tickets to The PARTY of the YEAR before Saturday to qualify for the prize of one week’s accommodation including bed and breakfast at Michamvi Sunset Bay Resort in Zanzibar.

All past and present Tweni surfers and residents as well as ALL South Coasters are called to support this vibrant local event.
