‘Hold the game’ – put your cards on the table at the Wild Coast this weekend

Thunee, after the Tamil word for water, is a popular card game that originated in Durban.

Over the course of the years, the game has become very popular, with major Thunee competitions being held throughout South Africa.

For the past five years, the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort has hosted the Thunee Classic Challenge which has become extremely popular and attracts players from as far afield as Johannesburg, Cape Town, Richards Bay, Ladysmith and Durban.

The Wild Coast Thunee Classic Challenge will be played at the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort this Saturday, June 29 from midday.

Cost is R250 per team and the main prize is set at R30 000.

This Friday, June 28 a Bhangra and Old School classics evening with DJ Vikraj will be held at Chico’s buffet restaurant at R170 per person.
