Heritage Day in the South

Readers tell COURIER what they did on Heritage Day.

READERS were asked what they did on Heritage Day.

This is what they had to say:

NELISIWE NKOSI: “I celebrated Heritage Day at Lawley Primary School with the learners. It was an exciting celebration as learners wore their cultural clothes to honour the day.”
OBED MOGANE: “I was at home the entire day. I had no money to go out or to buy cultural cloths to honour Heritage Day. But next year’s Heritage Day will be different because I will be prepared for it.”
THOKOZANI CELE: “I cooked cultural dumplings, fried chicken and samp for my family. I also mingled with close neighbours, as it was a public holiday most of them didn’t go to work so I had to catch up with them.”
TINYIKO SWANGI: “I was hanging out with my friends. What I enjoyed on the day was seeing people wearing their cultural clothes. It makes one feel proud to see people taking Heritage Day seriously.”
