Jehovah’s Witnesses invite all to attend “God’s Word is Truth” Convention
Join Jehovah's Witnesses to attend a programme around the Bible while enjoying plays.

JEHOVAH’S Witnesses are inviting all in the area to attend a programme focusing on the Bible and the best possible advice it provides on life’s most difficult questions.
This will be the focus of the annual series of 2013 “God’s Word is Truth” District Conventions to be held every weekend from September 13 to October 20 at the Roodepoort Athletics Stadium in Ruimsig. An estimated 25 000 people from Greater Johannesburg and its northern and southern suburbs, East Rand, West Rand and the Vaal triangle are expected to attend these six conventions.
The convention theme this year is significant because it underscores a core family value for Jehovah’s Witnesses. Witness families embrace the Bible as the most trustworthy guide and source of advice in these troubled times and they feel that members of the public will likewise benefit from and enjoy the varied and practical programme. The highlights of the programme will be an intriguing talk on Sunday morning entitled “What is Truth?” and will examine why we can trust God’s Word, the Bible. In addition, two dramatic plays on Friday and Sunday afternoon will bring Bible stories and their lessons to life.
Members of the local Florida congregation are staging one of the dramatic plays. The conventions will be presented in four languages with three English-language conventions to be held on September 13 to 15, September 20 to 22 and October 4 to 6 respectively; Xhosa-language convention to be held on September 27 to 29; Zulu-language convention on October 11 to 13 and the series will end with the Sesotho-language convention from October 18 to 20.
The programme sessions will start at 09:00 on all three days of the convention. On Friday and Saturday it will end at 16:30 and on Sunday it will end at 15:15. The daily themes are based on passages of Scripture including John 8:32, Psalm 86:11 and 2 Peter 1:12.
The conventions would be attended by young and old and from all walks of life including 90-year-old Jesse Muller who has been a baptized Witness for over 70 years and will be travelling daily from Vanderbijlpark.
There is no admission fee. Conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses are supported entirely by voluntary donations. Throughout Southern Africa, there will be around 80 conventions in around 50 towns and cities. Worldwide, there are over 7 500 000 active Witnesses in more than 111 000 congregations.
