Children enjoy the fun day
A big thank you to all the ladies from Moffatview for their help.
REGENTS PARK – It was a great party for children from La Rochelle, Glenesk, Moffatview, Rosettenville and Regents Park at the open space next to the Netball Court in Regents Park on Saturday, December 7.
This was the second Fun Day for children in the area who are less fortunate. The event was made successful by companies that opened their hearts: Falcon Electronic, Rob Wyle Trading, Peter’s T-shirts, Mama Lourdes Heavenly Bites and Spar Kenilworth.
“I believe that every child has the right to have fun and be loved,” said Sylvia Glade, one of the organisers.
She also had a special thank you to their own Southerner living in the USA, Mrs Kerry Roberts; her donation towards the Fun Day will be used to buy school shoes for the children. “A big thank you to Lee Ann Spagen for doing the runaround and helping with administration work, Sgt Mokhele from Moffatview Police Station, Lucas and crew from Turffontein Fire Department for educating the children on what to do in the event of an emergency, Peter from Mercy Riders Bikers, Christine Beeby, SGB from The Hill High for arranging for her children and learners from the school to help. Also a big thank you to all the ladies from Moffatview for their help. I hope that more people will be involved next year. This is not about individuals, but about a community.”
