Help needed against drugs and deviant behaviour in Robertsham
Learners younger than15 influenced by their seniors to take drugs
ROBETSHAM – school children smoke dagga, cigarettes and play dice on the steets of Robertsham while they are wearing their school uniforms. Parents, please make sure your child is not one of these learners.
This is a call for the community of Robertsham to acknowledge that learners as young as 15 years are influenced by their seniors to take drugs in front of offices and businesses near the corner of Rifle Range and Scaw roads.
The behaviour is affecting business because customers and clients do not want to go near the area between 14:00 and 15:00.
“I believe this is my bread and butter, I survive with it but now it is actually becoming worse.”
Sales figures have dropped because of the drug abuse in public by learners in this area. One business closed down already.
“They have no respect for the elders; we never had these issues when we used to attend school. Some even show sexual gestures in public. I don’t think the parents know what their children are doing while they are at work,” complained an owner of a business near the affected areas, who asked not to be identified.
The police were notified of the situation. Community members, patrollers or NGO’s who wish to help keep these school children safe and away from drugs and deviant behaviour are welcome to iniate some necessary remedies.
