OAKDENE – “Often the road would be swimming with water and we contacted the municipality continually. We suspected the drains were so badly blocked they needed clearing,” said a resident.
Last week the drains were eventually cleaned and it was discovered hundreds of newspapers had been dumped.
“Hopefully now the ‘rivers’ will stop running down High Street,” said the resident.
