Foreign national speaks against xenophobia
DRC born man encourages foreigners involved in crime to also stop dealing drugs and firearms.
JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Jildo Ginzanza (35) from the Democratic Republic of Congo discourages xenophobic violence and hate, but also does not approve of criminal behavior displayed by foreign nationals.
Jildo has a great interest in African politics and does not only see things from one perspective, although he believes the violence was inappropriate, wrong and cannot be excused.
He spoke to the COURIER during a march against crime and xenophobia after the killing of a police officer and the controversial xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals by some South African citizens.
“Us as foreigners have a role to play to preserve the society of South Africa and keep the cities clean and beautiful. I urge all those involved in crimes to stop the dealing of drugs and firearms, because we are all Africans and we are all family. Foreigners must also check their behaviour.”
