SAPS honour officer for 33 years of service

He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2011 and he has decided to take an early retirement this May 31, at age 57.

MOFFATVIEW – SAPS recently honoured Lieutenant Xikepe Joseph Makhubela for 33 years of dedicated service.

Lieutenant Makhubela began his career in 1981 at the age of 23. He attended Hammaskraal College for three months before being posted at Cleveland SAPS, where he served as a Constable until 1985.

He then transferred to Alexander for two years, working at SAPS 13, dealing with lost and found property. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1995 and Warrant Officer four years later, when he served at the Alexander Court.

In 2006, Lieutenant Makhubela went back to Alexander SAPS, where he was promoted to Lieutenant and posted at Booysens SAPS as a sector manager, working in the accident office.

In 2012, he was transferred to Moffatview and, once again, worked at SAPS 13, dealing with lost and found property until Sunday, May 31, 2015.

“Lieutenant Makhubela served with dignity and pride. He decided to take an early retirement at the age of 57 and Moffatview SAPS will remember his good work. Well done Lieutenant. Enjoy your pension.” said Constable Bila, Moffatview communications officer.
