GLENVISTA – According to the home owner, he said they have a 24-hour security guard, who the three suspects tied up before entering their home and going into their bedroom while they were sleeping.
The intruders, who were wearing balaclavas, shouted at the couple and said they were going to shoot them. The home owner’s wife reached for her licensed firearm from under her pillow and shot two of the intruders. One died in the bedroom and the other died outside the door of the home. Both the suspects had cable ties on them.
A third suspect escaped and a search was launched by Community Policing Forum but to no avail.
Both the intruders who were shot were armed and SAPS recovered two firearms belonging to the suspects.
Mondeor SAPS and CPF were on the scene.
