Four house robbers nabbed

Four suspects were spotted in Meredale,chased down by a Mondeor SAPS Tracing Unit and arrested at Southgate.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – Four suspected house robbers startled a domestic worker when they entered a house in Chelverton Street, Mondeor, on August 25.

Mondeor SAPS communications officer, Constable Elizabeth Sibongile Mnguni said, “It is alleged that four males entered a house in Chelverton Street, Mondeor. They found a domestic worker who screamed and the neighbour heard her. The suspects fled the scene in a White BMW 5 series. The neighbour took down the registration number and posted it in WhatsApp groups.”

According to Mnguni the suspects were spotted in Meredale, chased down by a Mondeor SAPS Tracing Unit and caught at Southgate.

“The four suspects aged between 19 to 46 years were arrested for attempted house robbery and the possession of house breaking implements,” added Mnguni.

Mondeor SAPS commended the community’s swift response.
