This is an annual inter-school knock-out quiz for learners in Grade four and five, where a team of six learners go up against teams from other schools within the City of Johannesburg.

The aim of the project is to encourage a relationship between public libraries and schools. Cynthia Ntsele, a teacher, said the learners have to read 15 prescribed books on which the quiz is based. “The competition consists of four rounds and there were 216 schools that entered the competition. Rosettenville Central Primary School learners came first in the first round which was held at Rosettenville Library. They also obtained the first position in the second round which was held at Mayfair Library, they then proceeded to the regional round or semi-finals and obtained a first position as well,” explained Ntsele.

As champions Rosettenville Central Primary School won a floating trophy and each learner also received a R400 Pick n Pay voucher.
