According to the complainant, she was alerted by her dogs barking before hearing a gunshot.
When she went to investigate the noise, she found her partner lying on the floor.
Three men with their faces covered were inside her house; one of the men was armed with a firearm.

The male victim was declared deceased at the scene. Police have not released his identity pending notification to his family.
Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, speaking for Gauteng police, condemned the attack and said officers were working to track down the suspects.
“This was a brutal and senseless act that has robbed a family of a loved one. Our detectives are following up on every lead, and we will not rest until those responsible are brought to justice. Communities must not live in fear in their own homes,” she said.
The incident was reported in the Mondeor policing precinct.
