Caught in the act

Illegal dumping has to stop, it's becoming an eyesore in the South.

MULBARTON – A man who was illegally dumping building rubble on Saturday November 14 at about 13:30 on open ground on the corner of South and Klipview roads, border Mulbarton and Liefde en Vrede, was caught red-handed by community forum members Section 1.

They called for back-up from Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) who sent a vehicle out to investigate. The JMPD officer who attended the scene, asked the driver to escort him to the premises where the truck would be impounded.

“This is a success for us and we are going to be watching  carefully for future cases of illegal dumping, whether building rubble or household  rubbish. The South is becoming a dumping ground for those who can’t be bothered to go to legal dumping grounds and it has to stop,” said one of the Sector 1 CF member’s.
