Oakdene Neighbourhood Watch saves the environment

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH: Efforts of the Oakdene Neighbourhood Watch is turning open spaces into beautiful spaces.

Members of the Oakdene Neighbourhood Watch with the assistance of Working for Water, which is sponsored by the Department of Water Affairs, recently cleaned the corner of Soutpansberg Drive and Tafelberg Avenue in Oakdene.

Philip Venter from the neighbourhood watch said: “As there is no other formal recreational facilities or parks in the suburb of Oakdene, the Oakdene Neighbourhood Watch now wishes to develop the area for its residents and it has been cleared of most of the building rubble and rubbish.”

The cleaned up area has been designated as a park and needs sand, grading vehicles, landscapers, horticulturists, park equipment, grass and trees.
