Child injured in house fire, Fochville

Residents from the house were found seated on the pavement outside.

A GIRL, believed to be one-and-a half-years old, sustained mild smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in a house in Kokosi outside of Fochville on Friday February 12.

When ER24 paramedic and fire services arrived on scene, they found part of the small house well alight. Residents from the house were found seated on the pavement outside.

Russel Meiring, ER24 Spokesperson, said, “Fire services began battling the blaze while paramedics assessed the patients. On assessment, paramedics found that the young girl was the only patient and that she had sustained mild smoke inhalation. Paramedics treated the patient and thereafter transported her to Carletonville hospital for further treatment. Fortunately no other patients were reported on scene.”
